Congratulations to the new members of the Manuscripts staff! Competition was tough this year, and we'd like to thank everyone who applied for giving us a great pool of applicants to choose from. The staff for 2005-2006: Calli Grimes, Diane Hardin, Meagan Hinze, Paddy O'Connell, and Karen Witting. Be sure to keep checking the Staff page for more information on our new members as well as ways that you can continue to support the magazine during the upcoming year.

The editors of Manuscripts have recently revised the goals and direction of the magazine for the upcoming year. As a result, certain dates and information printed in the 2005 magazine must be amended. Changes made include the following:

  • After talking with our publisher, it has become apparent that the deadline must be moved forward if we are to get the magazine printed before the end of the school year. Therefore, the deadline for submission to the 2006 issue of Manuscripts is Friday, February 3, 2006not March 1, as was indicated in the 2005 magazine. We offer our apologies for any inconvenience or confusion this may cause, but stress that having the magazine ready to distribute by the end of the year is a top priority.
  • Manuscripts will no longer be opening submission to writers from outside the Butler student community. We are sorry to do so, but our membership in the Indiana Collegiate Press Association requires that our magazine consist strictly of work by current Butler students in order to be eligible for awards and recognition. We encourage our non-campus writers to keep watching the site and consulting future issues of the magazine, as we definitely hope to open up submission further in the near future.

We appreciate your understanding. Please make note of these changes, and we will hope to hear from you this year!
