Tyler Johnston, Chair, called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.

Committee Reports

Staff Development – Gary Beaulieu announced that he is the new convener. They will start on workshops and plan to have one per month.

Employment Affairs – Dana Ohren reported the Campus Sweep will be April 28. The directory will be emailed to all Staff and will be updated yearly.

Nominations & Elections – Patti Colip announced the new election will be held in March.

Activities & Socials – Jennifer McConnell discussed the Relay for Life.

Faculty Relations – Julie Schrader reported that Bela Florenthal is pursuing options to publish the survey results.

Communications – No report.

New Business

Relay for Life – Jennifer McConnell introduced Kim Williams from the American Cancer Society. Kim presented a video about Relay for Life.

Butler Business Accelerator – Diana Todd presented the members of the Butler Business Accelerator. This program provides students the opportunity to experience business first-hand. The Accelerator is a consulting business, formed in 2006, designed to serve middle market companies in Central Indiana. Teams of professional consultants, faculty and students work directly with these companies to help them grow. Students learn and experience real business problems and situations.

Green Tip – Coco Acosta, Marsha Endre and Kaitlin Haskins, Treasurer of ECO Group, presented a video about Recycle Mania. They are conducting a poster campaign. Over 200 schools from Indiana participate in the program.

Announcements

Two new staff members were introduced and welcomed to Butler.

The next Staff Assembly meeting will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2009.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00pm.
