New Business

Ben Hunter - Parking Price Change - Ben Hunter announced that the price for parking this year will be raised to $50. He stated everyone had a valid complaint that they haven't heard the increase was coming. He explained where this money goes:

  • Toward the BUPD operating budget
  • Repairs
  • Traffic cones and supplies
  • ID supplies
  • Covered 12% of BUPD salaries in the past and with the increase it will cover 15%

Public Safety Division, Where are we headed:

  • Review fee structure
  • Parking allocation study (Ben showed a slide of the current parking allocation)
  • Review freshman parking
  • Dedicated lots
  • Dedicated paid spots

Future constraints:

  • Continued growth
  • Neighborhood issues

He is looking at how to build capacity and will establish an on-going standing committee by the end of the summer to look at future parking issues. This should be a year or more process.

Joe Ader - Information Resources on Office 2007 - 'Have you made the switch?' Their goal is to move all staff/faculty by August 1.
