Staff Assembly Meeting Minutes
Clowes Memorial Hall (Attendance - approximately 81)
Tyler Johnston, Chair, called the meeting to order and welcomed
everyone. He thanked the people at Clowes for hosting the
meeting.
Committee Reports
There were no committee reports this month. Tyler introduced the
new committee conveners:
Personal & Professional Development - Dick Hamm
Employment Affairs - Mary Azar Callahan
Nominations & Elections - Patti Colip
Activities & Socials - Chris Davis
Faculty Relations - Julie Schrader
Communication - Marsha Endre
The new website will be updated prior to the start of
school.
Old Business
Julie Pakenham - Backpack Attack - The Backpack
Attack is now going on through August 7. Collection boxes will be
at Irwin Library, HRC, Jordan Hall, Holcomb Building, Atherton
Union, and the Apartment Village. The items go to the IPS students
from the community. The goal this year is to have enough items for
20,000 students.
New Business
Butler 101 - The Office of Admission is hosting
a Butler 101 for prospective students and their families. They have
invited all staff to attend to the 'meet and greet' lunch session
Friday, July 24 starting at 12:15 on the quad. RSVP to Alaina
Griffin.
Office 2007 - All staff is encouraged to get
training and upgrade by August 1.

Announcements
The Activities & Social committee announced that copies of
the Butler Perks pamphlet were on the table for staff to take as
they exited the stage. There is a link to the pamphlet on the
HUB.
Bob Marcus announced that the 'Who's That' program is
approaching 300 entries. He still needs representatives from
several areas. There is a link to the entry form on the HUB.
One new staff member was introduced and welcomed to Butler.
The next Staff Assembly meeting will be on Wednesday, August 19,
2009 in GH108.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 pm.
