the changes and comments made to the February interaction. They are
seeking input and will make a final draft that will cover the next
5 years. The deadline for comment is May 6. Comments during the
discussion:
- Butler Way was taken off - it is in the document for the next
communication plan but not in the organizing theme
- How does the Strategic Plan define diversity and what is the
role of the Chief Diversity Officer? Lisa Walton answered: The
emphasis is on the student population, reach out to under
represented populations.
- What is our goal outcome and what is in place to achieve this
goal? Be 'employer of choice' for a diverse range of individuals.
Welcoming greater understanding cultures and make them feel
welcome.

addresses the faculty volunteering? Changes were made to the Plan

They are excited about the vision which is 'Dare to make a
difference'.

New Postal Requirements - Mark Scales, Midwest
Presort Service discussed ways to save money in postage and using
Midwest Presort Service. The Post Office has new rules and
regulations and they offer cost reduction for Presort to handle our
mail first but with assurance that our mail is sent out in a timely
manner. Butler will employ a method to capture correct address and
stamp 'Return Service Requested' on each mailing. The Post Office
will provide us with corrected addresses to update our database.
Starting May 11, the Post Office will test the accuracy of outgoing
mail. If we do not get an accepted accuracy percentage, we will pay
full cost of the postage. All handwritten mail costs the full
postage. Email Marsha Endre with questions.
