Band Day 2012
Saturday, September 8, 2012
For over twenty years, Butler University has been inviting high
school bands and band directors for instrument-specific master
classes with Butler section leaders and graduate students.
Participants perform at half-time alongside other musicians,
showcasing their talents in front of an energetic Butler Bowl
crowd. Each year, a guest artist on the featured instrument joins
in the fun.
Clarinets blew the crowd away in 2010, while Tubas took center
field in 2011. For 2012, we are proud to feature Flutes and
Piccolos, with Butler Unversity Professor of Flute, Karen Moratz.
Join us on Saturday, September 8th for Band Day
2012!
Of course we want all members of your band to attend, but you
are also welcome to just send your Flutes and Piccolo students. All
students will be involved in the morning rehearsal, the faculty
master-classes and the on-field massed band performance. There are
no student costs for the day's events, and Butler football game
tickets are a great bargain for parents at the gate (only $10).
Come see our newly renovated stadium and its beautiful "Field Turf"
surface!
