About the Lab

Quick Facts About the Butler University Speakers Lab

  • Butler University Speakers Lab is one of the pre-eminent communications labs in America.
  • Tutors are paid an hourly wage for their time in lab, and receive academic credit.
  • Over 1,500 student visits were conducted during the 2011-2012 academic year, with higher numbers anticipated during the 2012-2013 academic year.
  • In Fall 2004, we centralized our operations; now we occupy five rooms in the Richard M. Fairbanks Center for Communication and Technology
  • We enjoy excellent partnerships with the faculty of the College of Business and the entire campus.
  • Our community service with St. Vincent's - New Hope has won the Lab the prestigious Mayor's Award.
  • Communication Lab Directors and staff from around the country met here at Butler in April 2002.
