Dr. Jones joined the Butler community in 2008 and became an Associate Professor of music theory in 2012. He is currently serving as the Director of Undergraduate Research and Prestigious Scholarships, housed in the CHASE office. His job duties include: graduate school and fellowship advising (including assistance with writing personal statements), organizing the yearly Undergraduate Research Conference, directing the Butler Summer Institute, assembling campus committees to review international fellowship applications, organizing the PUR committee, which awards undergraduate students grants for their research, and countless other duties as needed. He is a long-time volunteer at the Humane Society of Indianapolis, working with large dogs that are having behavioral issues keeping them from being adoptable. He also is a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. Dr. Jones is an accomplished classical guitarist and a terrible bluegrass banjo player.
