National Scholarship and Fellowship Advising
The CHASE Office provides advising for undergraduate
students and alumni who are candidates for nationally competitive
scholarships and fellowships. We assist students through the
nomination and application process, helping them to prepare
competitive applications and providing a nomination process that
insures development of the students regardless the outcome of the
application.
Fellowships such as Fulbright, Truman, Rhodes, and Marshall
offer outstanding graduate education opportunities for qualified
students after they leave Butler. Some scholarships also
support undergraduate study or opportunities for students
while still at Butler. You may find information about such
scholarships and fellowships in the List of
Fellowships.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, contact the CHASE
office in Jordan Hall, Room 153. Planning
is essential. Your first year of study is not too early to
come in and see us. Dr. Rusty Jones is the coordinator of
national fellowships and scholarship advising. Some nationally
competitive scholarships and fellowships such as Goldwater,
Marshall, Mitchell, Rhodes and Truman, require institutional
nomination or ranking. Be aware that securing the University's
nomination for one of these awards is a major achievement in
itself. Be sure also to note that for these awards there is an
earlier institutional deadline for your application. The
List of Fellowships provides both the
institutional and the program deadlines.
