Summer Living...On Campus

Butler invites you to live on campus this summer with options in both ResCo and the Apartment Village.  Contracts for summer housing are available in the Residence Life Office (AU303) and should be returned to the office as soon as possible to ensure proper assignment and roommate matching.  The deadline for priority consideration is May 1. 

Please note that meal plans are not offered in the summer.  The C-Club and Starbucks do operate throughout the summer and the Marketplace at Atherton is open based on the summer camps schedule.  These options take cash, credit card and Dawg Bucks during the summer.  For anyone on a spring meal plan, the last meal for non-graduates is breakfast on Wednesday, May 8 and for those graduating, lunch on Friday, May 10.

Apartment Village Summer Storage

ResCo

Students who will be freshman or sophomores are assigned to ResCo for the summer, however all students are able to request ResCo.  Students staying between Summer Session I and II will be required to change rooms (to accommodate cleaning and repairs for fall opening) on Saturday, June 22nd. 

ResCo features mostly double rooms with a very limited number of singles available.  Three Resident Assistants (RAs), two Staff Assistants and a full-time Residence Life Coordinator staff ResCo for summer school.  Programming is offered and students are encouraged to participate and be an active member of the summer community on campus. 

Rates

ResCo double occupancy room - $160 per week, per resident

ResCo single occupancy room - $204 per week (very limited availability)

 

Apartment Village

Students who will be juniors or above and are currently or will be living in the Village in the fall semester are able to request the Apartment Village as their summer housing option.  The Village continues normal operations and staffing all summer, however you must meet certain criteria to live in the Village during parts of the summer.  Please note, students currently living in the Village are under contract until May 31.  As long as check-out takes place on or before May 31, no additional summer contract is needed.  If students wish to extend their stay past May 31 or move in as a new Village resident, a summer contract is needed.   

Students who currently live in the Village, but will NOT be returning to the Village for the fall semester are allowed to stay until May 31 with no additional contract.  If they wish to extend their stay past May 31, a summer contract is needed, but they must vacate their apartment by July 4.  These students will stay in their current apartment until they check out and will pay the weekly rate for any time after May 31 until July 4.

Students who currently live in the Village, and will be returning to the Village for the fall semester are allowed to stay until May 31 with no additional contract.  To extend their stay past May 31, a summer contract is needed.  These students will stay in their current apartment (and move to their new fall apartment during June or July, if applicable).  These students are eligible for the "buy one, get one free" special (see rates information below).

Students who currently do not live in the Village, but will be living in the Village for the fall semester are allowed to request to move to the Village for summer housing.  If possible, these students will be assigned to a temporary apartment until their fall apartment is available.  They will then move to their fall apartment in June or July (based on instructions from the Village staff).  These students will pay the weekly rate for any time in May and then will be eligible for the "buy one, get one free" special (see rates information below).

Rates

Single bedroom in a shared apartment - $212.50 per week, per resident

"Buy one, get one free" special for any summer into fall Village residents - Pay for June, get July for FREE.  Your student account will be billed $425 for Summer I housing and $425 for Summer II housing.  This is a total savings of $850.  Students must be moved into the Village by June 1 to take advantage of this special.  Any new Village residents moving to the Village in May will pay the weekly rate based on when they move in until June 1 (current Village residents are under contract until May 31).   

 

Apartment Village Summer Storage Options

Using your room or apartment for storage is an option in the Village if you are returning to the same room for the fall semester. Why move all your stuff home, only to move it all back in August!?  For a small, one-time fee you are able to leave items in your room or apartment.  Please note: only students returning to their same room for the fall may sign up for summer storage and you can only sign up for full apartment storage if all four roommates are returning to the same apartment for fall. 

Single bedroom storage - $125 per person

Full apartment storage - $200 per person (all four roommates must be returning and sign up for storage)

In order to sign up for summer storage, get your contract in the Residence Life Office (AU303) or at the Dawghouse front desk (to the left of the window).
