University Terrace
University Terrace, located on the corner of 52nd street and
Westfield Boulevard, just across the street from the Davey Athletic
Complex (baseball filed). It is an apartment-style
residence hall which houses nearly 100 students. UT usually
houses a mix of sophomore and junior students.
Each apartment is a shared space with one or three other
people. Each apartment is furnished with bedroom furniture
for each resident, but the main living space is
unfurnished. Each apartment has a kitchen which
includes major appliances (microwaves are permitted, but not
provided). The building has a lobby/desk area which is
staffed for several hours each day. In the lower level
residents will find a computer lab/community room and a
laundry room. Residents can also enjoy the outdoor
courtyard in the center of the building.
There are three different types of apartments with the major
difference being the number of people living in the apartment and
the number of bedrooms. University Terrace offers:
- Two person efficiency apartments (no separate bedroom) - very
limited
- Two person, 1 bedroom apartments (one shared bedroom)
- Four person, 2 bedroom apartments (two shared bedrooms)
- Four person, 3 bedroom apartments (one shared bedroom, two
single bedrooms) - very limited
Students assigned to apartments are not be required to
participate in the University's meal plan since they have full
kitchens in their apartments. However, they may choose to purchase
a meal plan to supplement their own cooking.
UT residents are invited to participate in building-wide
programs as well as programs for the entire apartment community
(includes the Apartment Village).
There is a full-time Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) who is
responsible for the entire apartment community, including UT, who
lives in the building. There is also an Apartment Community
Assistant (ACA) who lives in UT and works directly with the
residents. The entire staff of ACAs provide programming,
support and on call duty coverage for UT as part of the larger
apartment community.
