Environmental Health & Safety
The Department of Public Safety at Butler University
is charged with ensuring a safe environment for faculty, staff,
students and visitors. The Environmental Health & Safety
Specialist and Environmental Programs Coordinator both work to
ensure that Butler is in compliance with local, state and federal
laws. This office works with staff and faculty to train, research,
and audit to reduce university risks associated with OSHA and EPA
regulations.
The Environmental Programs Coordinator is responsible for proper
disposal of chemical and biological waste generated on campus. In
addition to that important duty, the coordinator samples water and
air to ensure a safe environment.
