Elizabeth Mix serves as Chair of Faculty Senate.
She also is an associate professor of art in the Jordan College of
the Arts. She holds a doctorate of art history from the University
of Minnesota (1994). Her areas of expertise include
nineteenth-century French visual culture, technology-based art (new
media) and appropriation art. Her publications Evil by Design: The
Creation and Marketing of the Femme-Fatale (University of Illinois
Press, 2006), The Complete Mayeux: Use and Abuse of a French Icon
(Peter Lang, 1997) and she is the co-author of Art Nouveau: A
Research Guide for Design Reform in France, Belgium, England, and
the United States (Garland, 1998). Dr. Mix is Faculty Director of
the Core Curriculum, and served previously as Art Program Director,
Special Projects Director for the Jordan College of the Arts and
Co-Faculty Development Fellow.
