Pre-Health Professions
The
Office of Pre-Graduate & Pre-Professional
Advising (OPPA) is designed to provide undergraduate
preparation for Butler students who plan to pursue advanced degrees
in a medical field. All medical graduate programs are competitive,
demanding a strong academic record and excellent preparation. While
Butler's program does not offer a pre-health major, it requires
students to take health studies courses that may be in addition to
or a part of the student's chosen major. Many students interested
in health professions major in the sciences, but other areas - such
as anthropology, psychology, and sociology - are feasible with
proper planning and advising.
The OPPA, located in Jordan Hall 153, on Butler's campus,
contains a number of resources to supplement the student's major
academic advising. We welcome students to browse through or borrow
from our collection of career resource videos and other
information. We also offer practice MCATs and test information. For
more information, please contact us at (800)
