Student Affairs
For students, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a
supportive and challenging place to study. Butler's campus is
beautiful. With Holcomb Gardens to the north and most classroom
buildings bordering the West Mall, you'll find everything you need
to study or relax within easy walking distance-and you'll still get
to class on time!
Each year the college arranges special events and activities to
help students explore and engage in academic life. Here is just a
sampling of our annual events.
Welcome Week
New and returning students get an introduction to
campus life and guidance from faculty advisors.
Block Party
Learn about all the extracurricular activities available at
Butler and within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences while
enjoying food, fun and entertainment.
White Coat Ceremony
This annual celebration recognizes students' entry into the
professional phase of either the physician assistant or pharmacy
program. Students and their families attend this ceremony during
which students receive their first white coat, which has been
donated by alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the college.
Physician Assistant Week
National Physician Assistant Week, October 6 - 12, the College
celebrates the birth of the PA program with activities for its
current students and faculty.
Pharmacy Month
Pharmacy student organizations coordinate speakers, health
fairs, and other activities throughout October.
Rotations Discovery Day
Designed for the students in their P3 (5th year) of the pharmacy
program, this event allows students to explore and discuss the
duties in the various rotations in which they will participate
during their P-4 year.
Honor Day
Faculty and professional organizations acknowledge the best and
brightest in the pharmacy and physician assistant programs.
Hooding Ceremony
Pharmacy and PA program graduates receive their academic
hoods in a special ceremony held the day before graduation. Entry
into the profession is signified by the first recitation of the
oaths of their respective professions.
