What is the best way for me to stay informed about important events and deadlines pertaining to my student?

Butler will send you information throughout your student's
career both via mail and through our Parent
NewsFlash email. It is important to make sure that we
have the correct contact information for you to receive these
updates. Butler will also send you information about emergency
situations through a Parent Notification listserv. Parents that
receive the Parent NewsFlash are automatically a
member of this listserv.To ensure that you receive this information
in a timely manner, please update your contact information
online or call (800) 368-6852, ext. 9946. View past editions of
the Parent NewsFlash email.
Instant Alert Plus, a notification system that delivers
emergency information and weather-related delays and closings to
students on and off campus via text messages and voice and email
alerts, is another way to stay informed about campus situations.
Parents cannot sign up for this system but their contact
information, such as phone numbers and/or email addresses, can be
added to their student's profile. Encourage your student to sign up
for Instant Alert Plus and to add your information to their
profile.
How do I become a member of the Butler University Parent Association?

Parents of current Butler students are automatically
members of our Parent Association. As a Parent Association member,
you will receive all relevant mailings and our
Parent NewsFlash email.
What is Family Weekend?

Family Weekend (typically in October) is a great
opportunity for families to return to campus and experience
portions of their student's life first-hand. There are special
activities for younger siblings, information sessions for parents
and events for the entire family. Look for registration
information early in the fall semester or visit
the Family
Weekend website.
Is there a Spring Parents Weekend on campus?

Butler University does not have a campus-wide Parents
Weekend in the spring. Many of the University's academic colleges
and Greek organizations do plan family-oriented programming in the
spring, typically at the end of March or beginning of April. Please
check with your student to learn more about any events or
programming in which he/she may be involved during this
time.
Why do I receive invitations to alumni events in my area?

Butler plans events throughout the year in both the
Indianapolis area and regions throughout the country. As members of
the Butler community, you are invited to attend many of these
events and encouraged to join us and other parents, past-parents
and friends of the University when we gather as a community. Please
