Where can I find important dates on the academic calendar? ~ Show Answer

The academic calendar can be accessed from www.butler.edu/registrar. If you need dates more than two years in the future, you may call the Registration and Records office at (317) 940-9203.

How does my son or daughter get a transcript of their work? ~ Show Answer

The Registration and Records staff is pleased to announce the availability of a new online Transcript Ordering service.  Students can access Transcript Ordering from our website: http://www.butler.edu/registrar/students/transcript-request/. This is the easiest and most efficient way to place an order either to generate a traditional paper transcript or to use the new option of electronic transcript delivery.

Online Transcript Ordering offers students and alumni the following benefits:

  • Secure transactions
  • Order updates via email
  • Online order tracking
  • Ability to order multiple transcripts for multiple recipients in one order

When and how will the Dean's List be posted? ~ Show Answer

Once the Dean's List is approved by all colleges, we make that information available to newspapers for students who have not requested privacy of enrollment information. This is usually within the month after grades are posted.

What are the criteria for Dean's List? ~ Show Answer

Degree-seeking undergraduate students who earn at least 12 hours of grade credit are eligible for the Dean's List if their Term GPA is in the top 20% of their college. Students in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences must be in the top 20% of their class standing. College and class standing are taken from the beginning of the fall or spring term of the Dean's List calculation.

How is registration priority assigned? ~ Show Answer

Students are assigned registration priority by the Registration and Records Office based on their class standing and earned credit hours at the beginning of the term: graduate students and seniors, then juniors, sophomores and freshmen. Students active in the Honors Program, students registered with Disability Services, students receiving VA benefits, and student-athletes during their NCAA competition term are assigned to first appointments in their class level.

When should my son or daughter sign up for graduation? ~ Show Answer

For May Commencement, a student should fill out a degree application and submit it to Registration and Records by the last day of classes in the fall term. For degrees to be awarded in August, students should submit by the first day of class for the Summer 1 term. Those wishing to participate in December graduation should fill out a degree application and submit it to Registration and Records by the last day of drop/add in the fall term. How can I get enrollment verifications? ~ Show Answer

Registration and Records provides enrollment verification for a variety of reasons. Your son or daughter can request this through the system by using My.Butler.edu, or you can fax your request to (317) 940-6539. A student may also come to the Registration and Records office on the first floor of Jordan Hall, room 133, and request the verification in person.
