Pianist Hamilton Tescarollo had his orchestral debut with the
São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), as a winner of this
prestigious ensemble's Young Soloists National Competition. Since
then, he has performed both as a soloist and as a collaborative
artist in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America. A
native of Brazil, he frequently includes the music of that country
and other Latin-American countries in his programs, in addition to
performing a wide range of repertoire. His CD with Venezuelan
clarinetist Jorge Montilla, featuring contemporary works by
composers of both North and South America, was released in December
2009 by London-based label Clarinet Classics.
Currently serving as assistant professor of piano and director
of keyboard studies at Indiana University - Purdue University Fort
Wayne (IPFW), Tescarollo has previously taught at Arizona State
University, Faculdade Santa Marcelina and Escola Municipal de
Música de São Paulo. His students have been prizewinners of many
piano competitions, and he was named "Teacher of the Year" at the
2001 Schimmel-AZ Piano Young Artist Competition. He is also a
sought-after master class presenter, lecturer and adjudicator.
Among the other distinctions he has received are sponsorships by
the Secretary of Culture of the State of São Paulo and the Vitae
Foundation, two first prizes at the Escola Municipal de Música de
São Paulo's piano competition, and the secp Performance degrees
from Santa Marcelina College in Brazil (undergraduate), Arizona
State University (master's and DMA), and Escola Municipal de Música
de São Paulo (Diploma). His teachers include pianists Gilberto
Tinetti, Caio Pagano, Robert Hamilton, Sandra Abrão and Paulo
Bergamo.
