MTNA Collegiate Chapter
The Butler University MTNA Collegiate Chapter
The aim of the Butler student chapter of MTNA is to unite
students for the attainment of musical excellence. It is also the
aim to promote music appreciation both on and off campus. This can
be achieved by sponsoring musical activities, using music as a
service to the community, and using talents and time in support for
local music festivals and conferences. Projects for the 2011-2012
school year include fundraisers, interest meetings, attendance and
presentation of the session "Grow and Play Together" at the 2011
IMTA conference, hosting the 2012 Butler Children's Music Festival,
attendance and presentation of the session "Getting Started with
Online Marketing" at the 2012 MTNA National Conference in NYC, and
logistical work for Achievement in Music Festival (AIM) and Indiana
Hoosier Auditions. Current officers are Ryan Greene, president;
Madalyn Mills, vice president; Lisa Delmedico, treasurer.
Students wishing to join MTNA should email Ryan Greene at rlgreene@butler.edu with questions regarding
the organization and its activities. Membership dues include $17
for National and State membership and $10 for collegiate
membership, bringing the total to $27. Members enjoy a subscription
to American Music Teacher Magazine, membership at the national,
state, and collegiate levels, networking opportunities on and off
campus - before and after graduation, chances to attend pedagogical
seminars, and opportunities to serve the community through music by
both teaching and performing.
