Butler University Double Reed Day!

9 a.m. until 5 p.m. with closing recital at 4:30 p.m.

The second annual Butler University Double Reed Day will be Saturday, January 24, 2015.  

Butler University Double Reed Day is free and open to oboists and bassoonists of all ages and levels as well as their parents, teachers, and friends.  Featured guests will include Carlos Coelho and Paul Nordby - internationally renowned oboe and bassoon repair technicians. A highlight of the day will be the final concert with all attendees performing in oboe, bassoon, and combined double reed ensembles. 

Butler University Double Reed Day is free of charge. 
Please bring your instrument, reeds, and accessories along with you.

ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY:

  • Opening recital featuring Butler faculty and students
  • Sessions on instrument care and maintenance with our expert guests
  • One-on-one instrument evaluations with our expert guests (limited slots)
  • Master classes for advanced oboists and bassoonists
  • Clinics for younger students
  • Warm-up sessions and rehearsals
  • Closing concert in which all attendees are welcome to perform
  • Opportunities to try instruments by Yamaha and Fox
  • Displays of music and accessories by other vendors
  • Optional campus tour
