Catherine Bringerud, accompanying/chamber music

Catherine BringerudCatherine Bringerud received Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in piano from Indiana University. Her teachers included Sidney Foster, Zadel Skolovsky, and Mary Sauer.

Mrs. Bringerud has been faculty accompanist at Butler since 1982. During that time her roles have included chamber pianist, rehearsal and orchestral pianist for Butler operas, coach-accompanist for faculty and students, and instructor of accompanying. She has also taught privately at community music schools in Illinois and Indiana.

In addition to her work at Butler, Mrs. Bringerud performs regularly on the Indianapolis Museum of Art concert series. She was heard as soloist with the Indianapolis Ballet in the spring of 1998. She has appeared with some of Indianapolis' finest chamber groups including Fourte, the Linden String Quartet, the Ronen Ensemble, and the Scott Chamber Players. She has also had collaborations with members of the Indianapolis Opera and Indianapolis Symphony. She has appeared as soloist and accompanist in performances throughout Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. In 1994, she was soloist and accompanist in a tour as an Artistic Ambassador in Bahrain, Pakistan, India and England. She is equally at home with string and vocal repertoire and has recorded for Hal Leonard Publishing Company.
