Music at Butler Weekend - Auditions
We strongly encourage you to audition for Butler University's Jordan College of Fine Arts School of
Music during a Music at Butler Weekend. Each weekend is packed with activities and
information designed to give you a glimpse inside the School of Music at Butler. The schedule
begins on Friday morning with a message from the JCFA associate dean followed by chair of the
School of Music. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to spend time with current
music students and faculty, observe classes and rehearsals, attend interest sessions, tour the
Jordan College of Fine Arts complex and Clowes Memorial Hall, as well as tour the Butler
University campus. You'll even get to test out the cafeteria food! We believe this experience
will give you an inside look at what we mean by Music at Butler, and will ultimately help you
make an informed college decision.
As part of the Music at Butler Weekend, you have the option to stay on campus Friday night
with a music student host. This will allow you to attend a Jordan College of Fine Arts music
performance and experience a little bit of campus life. (After all, there's more to college
than practice rooms.)
Auditions begin mid-day on Friday and continue through late afternoon. It may be necessary for
some areas to continue auditions on Saturday morning, but only after Friday spots are filled.
Exact audition times are subject to change, so audition schedules are distributed during
Friday morning registration. The program is scheduled to close by noon on Saturday.
To schedule your audition and other Music at Butler Weekend activities please follow the application procedures outlined here. You can find Music at Butler Weekend dates and audition requirements here.
