Saturday, January 18, 2014
After 16 years of hosting Butler University Bassoon Day, we are
opening our doors to the oboists and introducing Butler University
Double Reed Day.
Butler University Double Reed Day is open to oboists and
bassoonists of all ages and levels as well as their parents,
teachers, and friends. This year's Double Reed Day will be held in
the new Schrott Center for the Arts on Butler's campus. Featured
guests will include Oleksiy Zahkarov, bassoon, Indianapolis
Symphony Orchestra; and Kelly Swensson, master of music from Butler
'12. The day will include performances by our guests, hosts, and
current Butler students. There will also be displays of double reed
instruments, accessories, and music to browse and purchase. A
highlight of the day will be the final concert, with all attendees
performing in massed oboe, bassoon, and combined double reed
Butler University Double Reed Day is free of charge.
