Schedule

Activities will begin on Friday, Feb. 15, with registration and chair placement auditions from 3:30-5 p.m. After dinner, the first rehearsal will be held from 6:15-7:30 p.m. After that, a performance by the Butler Jazz Ensemble precedes a reception with food and fellowship for band members.

Saturday is a day of rehearsals, clinics, and coaching. A highlight of the day will be a visit by our special guest composer, Steven Bryant, who will work with the All Star Band in preparation of one of his own compositions. After dinner, we will see a spectacular performance by the Butler Ballet followed by an all you can eat pizza party.

Sunday morning begins with breakfast, one final dress rehearsal on stage and concludes with the gala finale concert by the All-Star High School Band and Butler University Wind Ensemble in Clowes Memorial Hall at 2 p.m. In addition to the performance by the All Star Band, the Butler University Wind Ensemble will perform the world premiere of a new piece by Steven Bryant that was commissioned by a consortium led by Butler's Kappa Kappa Psi chapter. Mr. Bryant will be on campus working with the Wind Ensemble in preparation for the premiere. Also on the program will be appearances by two of our Kappa Kappa Psi Concerto Competition winners, Jenna Page, flutist, performing the Doppler Fantasie Pastoral Hongroise and Eric Hjellming and Wes Winn performing Mystic Warriors, a two trumpet concerto by Allen Vizzutti.
