D.J. Smith, Instructor of piano, class piano

DJ Smith 

 D.J. Smith instructs keyboard skills for music and dance majors at Butler University. Smith maintains his own private studio through the Butler Community Arts School. Passionate about adult education, Smith also teaches group piano classes for beginning adults http://www.butler.edu/community-arts-school/adult-beginning-piano-class/. He holds a bachelor's degree in piano performance from Indiana Wesleyan University and a master's in piano pedagogy from Butler University. He is a nationally certified teacher in music (NCTM).

Smith serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Music Teachers Association. He is the state coordinator of the IMTA Hoosier Auditions. D.J. performs regularly as soloist, collaborates with fellow artists, and frequently lectures at conferences and festivals throughout the region. Smith is pianist for the Indianapolis Men's Chorus.
