Mr. McCullough is a graduate of the BOA Grand National Champion Norwin High School Band from Irwin, Pennsylvania. He attended West Virginia University, studying conducting with Don Wilcox. He developed outstanding band programs in the public schools of West Virginia and New York before becoming the Assistant Director of Bands at Syracuse University.

Mr. McCullough is currently a doctoral candidate in wind conducting at the University of Washington, where he studied conducting with Peter Erös, Tim Salzman and Rubin Guerivich. He has conducted performances at National MENC, Regional MENC and Northwest/Western CBDNA Conventions. An active adjudicator, clinician and guest conductor, Mr. McCullough has presented premiers of works by Walter Hartley, William O. Smith and Brian Bittle.

Having created more than 300 arrangements for competitive high school and university bands, Mr. McCullough's arrangements can be heard from New Jersey to California as played by high school ensembles, and by collegiate marching bands from Syracuse, New York to the University of Hawaii. He is a staff arranger with the University of Alabama "Million Dollar Band," directed by his good friend and former student, Dr. Ken Ozzello. But if you ask him, the groups he enjoys writing for the most are the Butler University Marching Band and Basketball Pep Band.
