German IGeL School
(Institute for German Language)
The
German IGeL school began as a private initiative of parents of
bilingual German and English-speaking children who wanted to
develop a more formalized education experience in German for their
children. Today the IGeL meets in the heart of German activities in
Indianapolis, the historic Athenaeum,
originally called "Das deutsche Haus". Since its inception, Butler
students have been visiting and helping out at the IGeL gaining
valuable experience and improving their German while having fun
working with kids. Come join at the IGeL! We welcome students
enrolled in the German Service Learning class as well as volunteers
throughout the year.
