German Karneval/Fasching
The Indianapolis German community is big on
celebrating "Fashing" or "Karneval" - German for Mardis Gras. There
are celebrations both at the Athenaeum downtown
as well as just south of Indianapolis at the German-American Klub
(GAK) in Greenwood. There are both adult events and events for
children. Students can dress up and join in the fun, or help with
the children's "Karneval" or both! This is the last chance to
celebrate before Lent, so put on a mask and get out and have some
fun!
