Alliance Franchise Small The Alliance Française of Indianapolis (AFI) is chartered through the Alliance Française de Paris (APP), which was founded in 1883 and which has grown into a worldwide network comprised of more than 1,135 associations in 138 countries. In the Indianapolis area, the AFI organizes film screenings, conferences, celebrations, dinners, meetings, reading groups, conversation and game groups. In brief, we organize socio-cultural activities for the young and for adults, and all our activities are open to the public. We also provide a lending library of francophone films available to our membership.

Information about AFI events can be found at Each month different events are planned and publicized through the website, or you may contact the AFI ( and ask to be added to their email list for monthly mailings of events. The AFI especially encourages university students to join any and all activities! The evening French Coffee Hour in particular is a wonderful opportunity to get together with a group of people at all levels of French language expression to further develop your own language skills and to enjoy the company of others.
