This course is designed to introduce Chinese culture in both
ancient and modern times. We will approach Chinese history by

be given to the modern period, in which we will cover such topics
as Chinese food and tea cultures, movies, music, business, daily
life, politics, literature, and other forms of art and social life.
The goal of the course is to help students appreciate Chinese
