The Modern Language Center (MLC)
serves as a resource center for student and faculty media
needs.
What can I do in the MLC?
- Watch a movie! Did you know we have an extensive foreign
film collection to help you immerse yourself in Chinese, French,
German, Italian, Spanish and even Russian culture?
- Play Wii! Our Wii plays with you in French and
Spanish!
- Do your homework! We have dictionaries and other
resources for you to perfect your language skills. the space
was renovated in 2011 and is a fantastic place to be.
- Have a club meeting! Sign up to use the MLC for your next
club meeting. Just email mstigter@butler.edu
for more information.
- Check out materials for your language classes! Listening
comprehension exercises are available for French and German.
- Use a computer!
- Have fun with apps in your new language on a Google TV!
- Get help! This semester we will have tutoring tables on
Saturday afternoon from 1-3 pm in the MLC. Just drop in with
your homework and/or questions and get help.
- Cook up something new! Have you always wanted to try a
recipe, but didn't know how to measure out the grams? We have
a metric kitchen scale available for overnight checkout for you to
whip up your next culinary delight.
So stop in, bring some homework, meet with classmates or just
relax a little in the MLC. You are sure to find someone who speaks
your language here!
