Vivian S. Delbrook Visiting Writers Series
In addition to workshops with our resident and rotating faculty,
students learn from the writers who visit campus each year as part
of the Vivian Delbrook Visiting
Writers Series. Since its founding in 1989, the Delbrook VWS
has brought a wide variety of internationally and nationally
recognized writers to Butler, from Nobel- and Pulitzer-prize
winning poets and novelists to important emerging literary
artists: Toni Morrison, Nadine Gordimer, Allen Ginsburg, E.L.
Doctorow, Dave Eggers, Art Spiegelman, Mary Karr, Seamus Heaney,
and hundreds more. Read more about this series.
For 2012-2013, the Visiting Writers Series is pleased to
host Margaret Atwood, Robert Pinsky, Jennifer Egan, Patricia Smith
and Julianna Baggot, among others. Learn more about the spring 2013
speakers.
