Recording Industry Studies

Students in the Recording Industry Studies track learn about audio recording, particularly as it applies to music. Curriculum content emphasizes the craft and artistry of audio production. Students learn effective practices and creative techniques and gain exposure to the wide range of technology found in the recording industry. Students in the Recording Industry Studies track will be primed to enter the music and recording industries.

Digital Media Production

Students in the Digital Media Production program explore the production of content for television, CD, DVD, web sites and interactive media. Emphasis is on the entire production process, from concept to completion. Through hands-on instruction in our state-of-the-art computer labs and theory-based project management coursework, students receive a comprehensive education in this rapidly changing discipline. The future of electronic communication is here. You should be too.

Electronic Media

Students in the electronic media program can choose an emphasis in either Electronic Journalism or Critical Media Studies, depending on their interests. Many of the nation’s top on-air talent earned their stripes studying at Butler University. Whether your interest is in news, entertainment, sports, or attending grad school, the Department of Media Arts offers programs designed to suit your needs.
