Reserve Materials

Reserve materials are available in two different formats. Print Reserves are physical copies kept on reserve at the Circulation Desk. E-Reserves are digital copies set aside by a professor for a class.

Print Reserves - Show

Print Reserves are materials physically present and set aside for class use. Because an entire class will need to use them, professors put materials on reserve to limit how long they can be checked out. 2-hour and 4-hour reserves are not permitted to leave the library.

To check out an item on Print Reserve, take the citation information provided by your instructor to the Circulation Desk. You can check to see if the item is currently available by clicking the link below and looking up the item.

Please return all Print Reserve items to the Circulation Desk!

E-Reserves - Student Information

How do I find material my professor has put on E-Reserve?

E-Reserves provides three ways to access your instructors material:

  1. Browsing by department
  2. Browsing instructors' name
  3. Keyword searching

Select one of the browse features or enter a search query. Since the search interface is not case sensitive, there is no need for capitalization. After identifying the appropriate course, clink on that link to show a list of reserved materials for that particular course.

What kind of software do I need to view the E-Reserve materials?

The format of E-Reserve materials varies according to the content of the materials as well as the instructor's preference.

To view any E-Reserve in HTML format, you only need a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. To view materials in any other format, such as PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, or MS Word, you may need to download specific FREE viewing software to your PC from the following sites:
