This tutorial was designed to help Butler University's students understand exactly what plagiarism is, in the hopes that it will help them avoid plagiarizing in their papers.
Examples will be used to help illustrate such issues as: citing, summarizing another's idea, and lead-in sentences. A brief quiz may be required, using Blackboard, so that instructors can know that students understand the contents of this tutorial. |

The hope is that instead of plagiarizing (mistakenly or on purpose) since either can result in failing grades,
