Still more online tools...

  • Selected Web Sites – these are cites individually chosen and recommended by the Music & Fine Arts Librarian. They are authoritative and reliable and are good places to begin your search of Internet resources.
  • Subject Resource Guides ("SRGs") – these are bibiographies (i.e., lists of books) to help get your research “jump-started” in specific areas. (click on hyper-link to actual list)
  • Style Manual Guides – these are "cheat sheets" which provide sample citations for various types of materials in specific style manuals. (A style manual provides rules and examples that tell a writer how to format a paper with regard to footnotes, bibliographies, etc.) JCFA’s Music Department advocates use of the Chicago Manual of Style for all but music education majors, who should follow the rules set forth in Kate L. Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations.
