Mike Eikenberry
Mike grew up in northern Indiana in the small town of Wabash,
and arrived at Butler in the fall of 1991. While at Butler he
majored in Sociology and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta
Fraternity. After graduating in 1995 Mike traveled
approximately 60,000 miles by car over a two year period as a
Leadership Consultant for Phi Delta Theta International
Fraternity. He returned to Indiana University in the fall of
1997 to pursue a Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs
and follow his newfound interest in Advancement.
Mike has followed his passion which has led him to serve in
advancement roles at Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity,
IUPUI, Ball State University, and currently as the Director of
Development for the Indiana University School of Informatics.
He also finds time to serve in a volunteer role as Treasurer for
the Indiana Council for the Advancement and Support of Education
and as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Indiana University Center
on Philanthropy.
Mike is grateful for the close friends and education gained from
his time at Butler, but he is most thankful for a fateful afternoon
meeting in August 1994 on the roof of the "Castle on the Corner"
where he met Shawna Meyer, a 1996 graduate of Butler. Shawna
and Mike have been married since 1997 and have two daughters
Audrey, and Claire, who they hope will be a part of the Butler
freshman classes of 2021 and 2024.
