Student Judicial Programs
The Judicial Programs office coordinates the student discipline system. This includes consulting with faculty and staff on matters of student behavior (including classroom disruption and academic integrity) updating the Student Rules of Conduct, maintaining the judicial records database, training and advising judicial and appeals board members (faculty and students), coordinating alcohol education seminars, sending parental notification of alcohol and drug violations, responding to judicial records inquiries, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Mission:
Judicial Programs, an extension of the educational mission of the University, is intended to educate students about appropriate behavior and the potential consequences of their actions and choices, thus promoting learning, personal responsibility, self-discipline, respect for others, and the understanding and support of the educational values of our community.
We help students to:
- Understand the purpose for the community standard.
- Know how to bring their behavior into compliance with the community standards.
- Maturely accept accountability for his/her behavior.
- Clarify values as they are related to the behavior in question.
- Make more positive self-directed choices that will better enable him/her to assume adult roles.
- Consider the consequences of his/her behavior.
