Many of our graduates go on to traditional careers in journalism-print media, public relations, advertising, and not-for-profit and corporate communication. But they are also well prepared for law school or graduate school. Some of our recent journalism graduates have enrolled in prestigious programs such as the Fletcher School of International Law and Diplomacy, Yale and Michigan Law Schools, Georgetown's School of International Affairs and American University's School of Public Affairs.

Our journalism graduates have also combined their skills in mass communication with an interest in:

  • Sports…for careers in sports marketing/information and sports reporting.
  • Performing or visual art…for careers in arts administration, art criticism and the coverage of arts and entertainment for a variety of publications/media outlets or the marketing and promotion of arts or entertainment organizations, events, exhibits and artists.
  • Spanish (or other foreign language)…for careers with organizations whose target-market includes a Spanish-speaking public in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Business, finance or economics...for careers in corporate communication, investor relations or business/finance reporting.
  • Health science…for careers in health communication.
  • Political science or history…for careers in diplomacy, politics, government relations, or public affairs reporting
  • Anthropology, global studies or a foreign language…for careers in world affairs reporting, international travel or tourism, or international communications for a multi-national corporation or government agency.
