New Classes
The Jordan Academy is very excited about the new offerings that
we are adding to the Fall Semester. This whole new category of
Special Topics classes will contain an array of alternative kinds
of dance styles and conditioning techniques.
Fusion
Fusion is a unique blend of Pilates, Yoga, Dance Training and
Sports Conditioning that burns calories while transforming the
body. It is especially designed for people who need a mind/body
class that's about more than just stretching! It includes
modifications so everyone can participate, yet offers progressions
to challenge the more advanced. Fusion is a strong, dynamic, fluid
approach to mind/body classes that encompass a blend of formats
tied together for optimal calorie burning results. The "Fusion"
style uses dynamic movements that incorporate balance, strength,
and functional training while also emphasizing the athleticism
found in Pilates, Yoga, Dance, and Sports Conditioning. We want the
classes to generate heat in the body through continuous movement
and create a sweat while also transforming the body.
What can class members expect? Some examples include:
- Warrior poses and high lunges - move up and down rather than
holding the lunge for several breaths. Or hold the lunge, but then
use movement with your upper body (arms and torso).
- Side planks - add arm circles while holding the position.
- Chair - move from mountain into chair; continue flowing up and
down into the squat. Or hold at the bottom of chair and add
swimming arms.
- Planks - add moving hip extensions.
We are very excited to have Ms. Julie Voris as our Fusion
teacher. A Powder Blue Area Promotions Director and Presenter, Ms.
Voris is nationally certified through ACE and AFAA. She works at

performed as a soloist. She was invited to perform the opera
"Carmen" in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and performed in private
concerts around the city. Erica also played the lead character in
"La Danza del Fuego" with the Orquestra Sinfonica de Venezuela
under the direction of Aldemaro Romero. Erica has continued her
