Scholarships and Workstudy
Auditions for Scholarships will take place early in the Fall
Term each year. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled
full-time in the Pre-College School of the Academy and will be
required to study exclusively at the Academy. Scholarships take the
form of specific dollar amounts and are applied to the recipient's
Spring tuition fees, (scholarships do not apply to the Summer
Term). Full class participation and attendance are required. Each
scholarship student will be assigned to demonstrate in two classes
per week. If the recipient is found to be not meeting the
requirements of the scholarship then it may be revoked by the
Director. The audition date will be posted along with a complete
list of requirements for the auditions. The Academy also has a
limited number of work-study positions available. To be considered
for Work-study a student must demonstrate a financial need and be
available for a consistent number of weekly work hours at the
Academy.
Demonstrators
All scholarship students will be assigned to demonstrate in two
classes per week. Other students who wish experience in being a
demonstrator should consult with individual faculty members to
offer their services. Tuition credit for demonstration work is at
the discretion of the Director. For tuition credit consideration, a
written statement must be presented to the Director. This document
must contain a statement of support from the faculty member in
whose classes the student will be demonstrating.
