The Jordan Academy also serves as the teaching laboratory for
the Butler University Dance Pedagogy Majors. These students do
their Teaching Practicum at Jordan under the direct supervision of
Academy faculty along with the appropriate University Faculty
Advisor. The Teaching Practicum is coordinated and supervised by
Professor Michelle Jarvis and Academy Director, Larry Attaway. Each
Pedagogy student will observe and teach two different levels. This
opportunity for them to get "hands on" training is invaluable for
the student teacher and affords the university students some
insight into the preparation necessary to move into the teaching
profession.
