IPS/Butler Partnership at Shortridge
Preparing for Citizenship,
College
The Shortridge Magnet High School
for Law and Public Policy offers a college preparatory
curriculum for students in grades 6-12. Students prepare for their
role as citizens while exploring legal and social justice careers.
Shortridge students come to Butler's campus for academic, arts and
cultural experiences, including the Early College Program.
More than 240 Butler students have completed on-site classes and
practicum experiences at Shortridge. Our students and faculty work
with Shortridge in mentoring and tutoring, curriculum planning,
after-school programs, multi-cultural awareness workshops and
professional teacher development.
Shortridge senior Terrence Jackson, a participant in the Early
College Program, completed a summer internship with Butler's
Information Technology department. Read about his project and watch
Terrence's video diary.
