IPS/Butler Partnership at Lab School
Energized Early
Learning
Problem solving and instruction infused with the arts and
science are hallmarks of the Indianapolis Public
Schools/Butler University Laboratory School. Opened in
fall 2011, this Reggio-inspired, magnet elementary school will
ultimately serve grades K-5. St. Mary's Child Center provides
preschool programming at Lab School.
Butler's College of Education
(COE) collaborates with IPS in the Lab School's curriculum
development and operations. All faculty hold Butler education
degrees. Children of Butler employees may attend the Lab School as
space is available.
Butler COE Dean Ena Shelley describes Lab School teacher Abby
Bucher's methods for stimulating learning, in this video prepared for Indiana's
Teacher Appreciation Week.
