APRIL EVENTS
Workshop: Traveling on an F-1 Student Visa
4/2, Monday, 1pm
Find out what you need to do before you leave the US, before you
leave the US. Make sure you have all the documents you need and
that you are prepared to re-enter the US with ease. Also, how easy
is it to travel within the US? Find out!

Workshop: Graduating on an F-1 Visa
4/4, Wednesday, 9am
Do NOT wait until after graduation to figure out what you are
going to do next. By then it will be too late. Soon-to-be
graduates, learn what your options are after graduation and be
prepared for your future. After the workshop you will know what you
can do after graduation, have all your questions answered, and have
a better idea of what your next step will be.

Workshop: Working on an F-1 Student Visa
4/10, Tuesday, 8pm
There are three main types of authorized employment for F-1
students: on-campus, OPT, and CPT. Learn when and how you are
eligible for each type of employment as well as what you will need
to provide to the OISS to be approved for each type of
employment.

Workshop: Maintaining F-1 Student Status
4/16, Monday, 1pm
We will be discussing topics such as full-time student status,
leave of absences and visa extensions. Much of what is discussed in
this workshop is information that you will need throughout your
academic career as an F-1 student.

4/20, Friday, 7:30pm
The International Club of Butler University and the Office of
International Student Services presents its 22nd Annual
International Dinner featuring Journey to India. on Friday. We will
enjoy authentic food as well as entertainment on the theme by local
entertainers. The annual International Dinner has been a Butler
tradition for 22 years and is designed to bring together the
community and the University, educate on cultural diversity, and
allow interaction and a sharing of cultures.
Tickets are on sale now through the Office of International

317.940.9888, or RSVP online. International attendees are invited
to wear native dress from their countries, and all presentations
are international in nature.

Lecture Series Presents: From Selma to Obama and Beyond, An Evening
with Dan Rather

Dan Rather is one of the most recognized and renowned reporters of
our time. Over the past 40 years, Rather has been a part of
history's defining moments. Rather has reported from front lines
around the globe, including such places as Iraq, Afghanistan,
Vietnam, Tiananmen Square, the Middle East, Bosnia and Haiti.
On the domestic front, Rather has covered nearly every major
story, from 9/11 to President Clinton's impeachment. He has
reported on the civil rights movement, Watergate and every
presidential campaign since 1952.
The recipient of virtually every honor in broadcast journalism,
including numerous Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and citations from
critical, scholarly, professional, and charitable organizations,
Rather produces and hosts "Dan Rather Reports," a weekly news
program featuring hard-edged field reports, interviews and
investigative pieces exclusively on HDNet.

Workshop: Know Your Immigration Documents
4/24, Tuesday, 8pm
This workshop will explain all the important information
and function of your immigration documents as well as how you
will utilize them to get a SSN, driver's license and job. Your
documents may change or increase over the course of your
studies. It is very important that you understand what your
documents can do for you...and how much they cost if you loose
them.

All About the Benjamins: Exit Strategy
4/25, Wednesday, 6pm, Efroymson Diversity
Center
This event is for any student interested in financial health.
"All About the Benjamins" was developed for Seniors and all
interested students to prepare you for the transition you will be
making into either the professional workforce or graduate study,
and the subsequent financial decisions you will make.
All participants will receive a free credit report with personal
analysis. Topics discussed will include:
- General Financial Planning
- Evaluating Benefit Plans
- Managing Student Loan Debt
- How to "Pay Yourself First"
The workshop will be presented by David Howe, Certified
Financial Planner at Forum Credit Union. This is a great
opportunity for all students, especially our graduating seniors.
The current economic landscape is uncertain, at best. The purpose
of this event is to assist you in navigating these uncertain
economic times.
Your social security number and a signed consent form will be
required to enable Mr. Howe to run your credit report. As soon as
Mr. Howe provides the required Forum Consent form it will be
forwarded to all who RSVP.
**Morton-Finney Scholars who participate can use the workshop as
an individual or group project. But you must RSVP to attend**

End of the Year Celebration
4/27, 7-10pm, Efroymson Diversity Center
The end of the year is upon us and our Seniors will be
graduating! Take a break from your studies and join us for the
Efroymson Diversity Center Senior-End of the Year Celebration on
Friday, April 27, 2012, from 7:00PM -10 PM., in AU 004. Enjoy great
music, provided by the Butler University Jazz Band,Octet, under the
direction of Brandon Douthitt (7PM-8PM), followed by ACTIVITIES
