Office 2010 is the latest version of Microsoft Office for
Windows. Office 2010 provides many new features that can help
improve ease of use and productivity. See a
quick overview of new features in this PDF. The
date that all campus computers should be upgraded to
Office 2010 is below. The date was revised in Oct. to line up
with the Windows 7 campus upgrade schedule.
- August 31, 2012: All Butler owned Windows computers
required to run Office 2010

Known Issues at Butler
Get Office 2010 (Faculty & Staff Only)
Follow the steps below from on campus to
install Office 2010. The install could take up to 45 minutes
so please plan accordingly. To save time, connect to a wired
network port.
- Connect to power, close all open programs, and
Restart your computer
- Log in to your computer
- Click the Start Button
- Select All Programs
- Select the Microsoft System Center 2012
folder
- Select the Configuration
Manager folder
- Click on Software Center
- Choose to install Microsoft Office
2010
- Once you see the installation screen you can wait for the
install to finish or lock your computer (not log off) and leave it
unattended
- When installation is complete Close the
installation and Software Center windows
- That's it! Start using Office 2010.
