development services for Butler-supported software that includes
but is not limited to:

My.Butler Portal Development and Support

Data Backup and Recovery
If you are a student and have a problem with your computer
requiring hardware replacement or any other extenuating
circumstances IT can back up and hold your data for up to two
weeks. Data recovery may be necessary when a computer unexpectedly
crashes, fails to start properly, has a failing hard drive, or if
data is accidentally deleted, corrupt, or damaged. IT can
also attempt to help recover data from an intact hard drive.
Recovery of data cannot be guaranteed.

PeopleSoft Help Line
IT provides telephone support and troubleshooting assistance for
faculty and staff in using Butler's enterprise software,
Peoplesoft. My.Butler, the campus portal, offers access to these
enterprise functions, including--but not limited to--class
registration, grade submission, absence requests, and new student
processing. Please call (317)940-9746 for assistance.

Placement Exams
IT can assist in making sure your computer is able to run
placement exams correctly. In some extenuating circumstances
placement exams need to be reset by Admissions or the Help Desk,
please visit our FAQ for more information on who to contact for a
placement exam reset.

Software Application Request (Departmental)
Faculty and staff who are looking for new software must contact
IT for help at the beginning of the evaluation process. IT can
provide the evaluation, selection and implementation of software
targeted to assist staff in the conduct of university business. IT
can help you clarify the functionality you need and explain or
explore the software options that may best fit your needs. IT
supports and integrates numerous applications for specific business
needs, including but not limited to the following: BSR Advance,
ContentDM, Dawg Alert, Maximizer, EMS, and TMA.

Software Training (Departmental)
IT can coordinate and support departmental training on the use
of administrative systems. This includes 'training the trainer'
sessions and support for training sessions to answer technical
questions. Please contact the appropriate campus area or department
for training information.

will provide training and support for our web content management

Web Project Planning
IT provides assistance in planning website and web application
design features at a departmental or university level.

Website and Web Application Design and Development
IT works with departments and colleges to design and develop
websites and web applications, and add features to existing
websites and web applications. Although IT cannot guarantee that
all requests will be implemented, we can provide expertise on
topics or provide alternative solutions.
