Will my data be backed up?
~ Show Answer
IT makes every effort within our capabilities to back up your
data. This includes documents, music, pictures, videos,
etc. There are however some circumstances where IT is unable
to back up data, including but not limited to:
- Corrupt or unreadable hard-drive
- Corrupt data
- Unsaved files
- Other hardware failures that would cause the data to be
unreadable
Will a rebuild fix my hard drive?
~ Show Answer
A rebuild is intended to resolve software-related issues.
A rebuild will not resolve hardware malfunctions, such as a failing
hard drive. In the event of a failing hard drive on an out of
warranty computer, you can purchase a new hard drive and IT can
guide you through the installation of the new hard drive before
starting the rebuild process.
How long does a rebuild take?
~ Show Answer
IT handles most requests on a first-come first-serve
basis. In addition, the length of time a rebuild takes is
dependent on how much data you have to back up, what operating
system is being re-installed, and the possibility of complications
that could arise during the rebuild. Complications
include:
- Determination of hardware issues
- Corrupt or unreadable data
Generally speaking, allow for 4-5 business days for a
rebuild. You can also contact IT for an update on your
rebuild at any time.
Will my software, such as Microsoft Office, be installed?

are provided.
