Connect to BUmail ~ Show
Information
Exchange 2010
Note: Unless you have another email account
configured on your phone in Exchange, BUmail should be configured
to use Exchange 2010.
- On Start, flick left to
the App list,
tap Settings, and then
select Email & accounts
- Select Add an account
- Select Outlook Exchange and Office 365
- Select the Email address box, and then
enter your Butler email address
- In the Password box, enter your Butler
password
- Select Sign in
- You may get an error box saying that settings couldn't be
found. Select try again.
- Enter the domain butler.edu and select Sign in
- You may get an error saying the settings couldn't be found
again. Select Advanced.
- Enter bumail.butler.edu for the server name and select Sign
in
If you cannot get your Windows Phone 7 connected to your BUmail
account, please contact the Help Desk.
IMAP
- On Start, flick left to
the App list,
tap Settings, and then
select Email & accounts
- Select Add an account
Outlook
- Select the Email address box, and then
enter your Butler email address
- In the Password box, enter your Butler
password
- Sign in.
- If the account settings are found, wait for your Exchange
Server email, calendar, and contacts to be synced to your phone.
You're all done setting up your account.
- If you are required to enter manual settings,
select Advanced Setup, and then
select Internet email account. Enter the
following information:
- The email account type- IMAP
- The incoming email server address- bumail.butler.edu
- The outgoing (SMTP) email server address-
bumail.butler.edu
- Server authentication settings - Requires Authentication
- SSL requirements for incoming email - Secure Password
Authentication, Uses Secure Socket Layer
- SSL requirements for outgoing email - Requires Authentication,
TLS Encryption, Port 587
If you cannot get your Windows Phone 7 connected to your BUmail
account, please contact the Help Desk.
Connect to BU Secure Wireless ~ Show
Information
- On Start, flick left to
the App list, and then
select Settings. Select
Wi-Fi.
- Please verify that Wi-Fi networking is
set to On and that you are in a wireless area
- Select BU Secure Wireless from the list
of available networks
- Enter your Butler username and password
- Your device should now be connected to the Internet
Connect to BU Guest/Open Wireless ~ Show
Information
- On Start, flick left to
the App list, and then
select Settings. Select
Wi-Fi.
- Please verify that Wi-Fi networking is
set to On and that you are in a wireless area
- Select BU Guest/Open Wireless from the
list of available networks
- A screen will appear in your internet browser with username and
password fields, as well as two links. Click on the I Don't
Have a Butler Account - Create a Guest Account link.
- Enter the required information and click
Submit
- The page will confirm that your account has been successfully
created. Make a note of your username and
password. These appear below along with the information
you entered on the previous page.
- When you have your information ready, click on the button
labeled I have my username and password, take me to the log
in screen
- Enter your username and password. Click Log
In.
- The Butler University Computer Use Policy appears. Once you
have read the policy, indicate your acceptance by checking the
Accept the terms and conditions box, then click
Accept.
- An Active-X download may take a few seconds. You may also see a
notification that your IP Address is being renewed.
- Once completed, you should now have Internet access
If you cannot get your Windows Phone 7 connected to the Butler
network, please contact the Help Desk.
