Wireless Configuration
- Tap Settings. From that menu,
tap Wi-Fi
- Tap BU Secure Wireless
- Enter your Butler username and password then
tap Join
- When you see the certificate window,
tap Accept
- You should now be connected
Connect to BUmail (Exchange Account)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a large mailbox you should limit the
amount of mail you sync to one month. Mailboxes larger than 2GB
that are set to sync an unlimited number of days have caused
problems on the BUmail system.
Automatic BUmail Configuration
- Tap This
Link from your iPhone/Ipod Touch/iPad to automatically setup
BUmail on your device.
- To remove this automatically configured account go to Settings
> General > Profile > Butler University
Exchange and then click Remove.

Email: username@butler.edu

6. Enter "bumail.butler.edu" in the Server field and select

| 7. Select which items you would like to sync with your phone
(Mail, Contacts, Calendars) and select Done |
Configuring a Passcode to Secure Your Device
- Tap the Settings app
- Tap the General section
- Tap the Passcode Lock item
- Tap the Turn Passcode On item
- Enter a four-digit passcode and tap Next
- Re-enter the same 4-digit passcode and tap
Done
It is recommended that you enable the Erase Data setting, which
will wipe your device after 10 failed passcode attempts.
You may also wish to configure a passphrase instead of a
four-digit code; you can enable this in the following manner:
- In the Passcode Lock settings, toggle Simple
Passcode to Off
- Enter your old passcode
- Type your new passphrase and tap Next
- Retype your passphrase and tap Done
Connect to BU Guest/Open Wireless ~Show
Information
- Tap Settings. From that menu,
tap Wi-Fi
- Tap BU Guest/Open Wireless
- A screen will appear in your internet browser with username and
password fields, as well as two links. Click on the I
Don't Have a Butler Account - Create a Guest
Account link.
- Enter the required information and
click Submit
- The page will confirm that your account has been successfully
created. Make a note of your username and
password. These appear below along with the
information you entered on the previous page.
- When you have your information ready, click on the button
labeled I have my username and password, take me to
the log in screen
- Enter your username and password. Click Log
In.
- The Butler University Computer Use Policy appears. Once you
have read the policy, indicate your acceptance by checking
the Accept the terms and conditions box,
then click Accept.
- An Active-X download may take a few seconds. You may also see a
notification that your IP Address is being renewed.
- Once completed, you should now have Internet access
